Legend has it that the business made its fortune and thrived during the Great Depression in the late 1920s.  People had a hard time coming up with the dough to buy cars and houses but could always find a penny for a Popsicle!  It was kind of the same for my family, in the 60s, not a lot of money, but mom could always find a nickel for a Popsicle… because she knew that in that simple pleasure she could make them all happy, instantly.  What’s the point, you might ask!
