Maria Conchita Alonso & Eva Longoria-Parker Together Again In The Movie "Without Men"

Without Men, a comedy that boasts a largely Latino cast also includes Kate del Castillo, Judy Reyes, Oscar Nuñez, Beto Cuevas, Paul Rodriguez and Christian Slater. The movie is about what happens when Colombian guerrillas forcibly recruit the town's men, leaving the women to fend for themselves. When an American journalist (Christian Slater) finds out about the town and goes there, a battle of the sexes ensues. The movie was adapted and was directed by Argentinean director and screenwriter Gabriela Tagliavini, whose flick Ladies' Night was a Mexican box office hit in 2003.

“I play Lucrecia, the Madame, very poised, sexy and elegant, in her own way. She is the owner of the brothel in a small town in Latin America called Mariquita. She teaches all the girls how to please men, but also how to please themselves without the need of a man. She is into love, no matter the gender...” said Maria Conchita on the set of Without Men.  

Maria Conchita Alonso captured the hearts of American film-goers in movies such as MOSCOW IN THE HUDSON, opposite Robin Williams, COLORS opposite Sean Penn and Robert Duvall, THE RUNNING MAN with Arnold Schwarzenegger, EXTREME PREJUDICE with Nick Nolte and CAUGHT with Edward James Olmos among many others.   She is currently in the midst of producing and will co-star in “Courage”, a romantic thriller/action movie about Venezuela’s political situation.  Recent projects include a Lifetime TV series and the narration of the award-winning documentary “Crossing Our Borders.”  Through the month of September she will be seen at the Geffen Playhouse in the reading of Love, Loss and What I Wore” based on the bestselling book by Ilene Beckerman.  

Awards include among other international ones, the ALMA AWARD, Hispanic Woman of the Year, Independent Spirit Award and several Golden Eagle Awards.  The Grammy-nominated, gold and platinum singer/songwriter is currently heading to the studio to work on her new CD in Los Angeles.
