Aug. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- For BRIGHTER RED author Kevin Lobo it has been a hectic few weeks as he travels across Toronto meeting book lovers in Chapters stores. After an initial book signing in Chapters Yorkdale, he has had book events at Chapters - Bayview village and Eaton Centre.

The book is an inspirational read about an immigrant's dreams for Canada. Starting with an account of his journey to Canada aptly titled 'Born into Canada' in section 1 of his book, the book goes on to describe the shock most immigrants face when the lustre of the initial arrival wears off. Starting from starry dreams about immigrating to a new and rich country, soon to be called home, the author profiles what for most immigrants is a love at first sight. A Canada that welcomes and a Canada that accepts.

The authors describes the joys and pleasures, sights and sounds and in general the beauty of the those first days as immigrants take their first steps in a new land. However the author's real focus is the formation of a Canadian conscience. A realization, a shocking one at that as socially conscious immigrants discover the hidden issues now so visible. The author profiles issues like poverty, child poverty, plight of our first nations, education, youth and crime and various other issues.

The last section titled 'A new Canada' is the immigrant author's dreams for a new Canada. To see a Canada where no child goes hungry, where first nations share the same comforts of life as the rest of Canadians and where citizens aim to excel at the world stage. The book is an easy read, filled with anecdotes and stories, statistics and research and an easy style meant to draw the reader into a narrative.

Since its release in April 2010, the book has sold hundreds of copies. With almost every Canadian sharing an immigrant story, the book strikes a chord with every Canadian. The book has been an active proponent for inviting Canadians to take up the cudgels and get down to building a Country that cares for all.

With book signings and events across Toronto and a growing readers list, the book has gained an initial burst of success. As reviewed by Mayank Bhatt, the line 'a man we should all take seriously', has gained momentum. With his unique perspective from an Indian angle representing another great democracy and the social issues that plague both nations, rich and poor alike, the author has demonstrated a unique richness that immigrants bring to Canada. With feeback like 'A very powerful book', to 'Tough issues that we need to acknowledge and work on now', the book has carried on from strength to strength.

August 14th sees the author at Chapters - Queensway and August 15th at Chapters - Yorkdale, two of the most presitgious and favorite stores among book lovers in Toronto. Kevin Lobo will be available from 1 pm onwards to talk to book lovers and sign books at these great stores.
