Aug. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Nesbeth Looks Forward to Performing on Calgary Int’l Reggae Fest!
(Kingston, Jamaica 11th, Aug 2010) Jamaicans observed Emancipation Day on Monday August 2nd and celebrated 48 years of Independence on August 6th, 2010.  The celebrations came right after the suspension of a two month long State of Emergency in Kingston and St. Andrew.  Entertainment was inevitable; the spirit of Emancipation and Independence was felt across the island like it has never been for the past 20 years.  The artistes knew they had a role to play, they too felt the brunt of the pressure brought about by the changes and so both artistes and people welcome the summer events immensely.
The annual, “A St. Mary Mi Come From” event which is produced by Reggae artiste Capleton, was on schedule to kick off on August 6th in the parish of St. Mary.  Thousands came out to be entertained by the huge line-up of popular Reggae and Dancehall artistes among them was the unique sounding, soft spoken, Reggae artiste Nesbeth.
Nesbeth started out with a performance at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) free Independence concert in Half-Way-Tree where he locked it before heading off to St. Mary.  Nesbeth entered the stage at about 3:a.m. after Cocoa Tea, Richie Steven and Josie Wales combination that spurn some thunderous applause.  His performance kept the applauses up and eventually lifted it a notch with the huge crowd as he unleashed six of his most popular songs Boardhouse, Guns Out, Drive By, A Nuh So Mi Waan Live and was rewarded with a full house resounding forward that resonated throughout the entire venue.
Nesbeth now prepares for a debut performance at the Calgary International Reggae Festival in Canada working alongside internationally acclaimed Reggae stalwarts Beres Hammond, Kenyatta Hill of Culture and Inner Circle band.
Promoter Leo Cripps has been working closely with Nesbeth’s team to ensure he not only get to the venue but also make an indelible mark in Calgary as well as at the event.  On his arrival, Nesbeth is expected to do several interviews including a live television performance/interview on City TV channel 8 in Calgary backed by the Ultimate Crew Band from Toronto.  Ultimate Crew is a collaboration of musicians from some of Toronto’s top bands that were sequested in 2004 to play the first Reggae festival; they have been the house band since.
Bernie Pitters on keyboard, Tony Barret from the Arsenals on Guitar, Wyz Malcolm from Hard Core on Keys, Charles (Tower) Sinclair formerly of Messenjah on Bass, Oniel Fuller on Drums with backing vocals from Lorraine Reid and Melissa McCalla.
Together these guys have backed some of the best in the business, Michael Rose, Freddie McGregor, Sugar Minott, John Holt, George Nooks just to name a few.
Nesbeth will also be interviewed on
Virgin Radio 98.5, CJAY 92.1 and AM 1060 Classic Country.  For other information relating to the festival click press release:  http://www.calgaryreggaefestival.com/#gpm1_3 and web feature: http://www.calgaryreggaefestival.com/index.html
