By: Ella Bee PR Minorities have been disproportionately affected by the HIV epidemic and account for the majority of newly-reported AIDS cases and deaths among persons living with the disease. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, African- American women make up 64% of estimated new HIV +infections among women and young African Americans between the ages of 13-19 represent 61% of new AIDS cases. “This is a huge honor because I have had several close people in my life die of AIDS, and I have some friends that are HIV positive. To be a part of this tour really hits home for me. I cannot wait to meet and talk with young men and women on this topic,” says Queen YoNasDa who continues to be a leader on social issues within the hip-hop community. About Rap-It-Up Since its launch in 2000, BET's Rap-It-Up Campaign has tested more than 5,000 people nationwide for HIV infection; received more than 900,000 calls to its toll- free hotline; distributed more than 230,000 sexual health brochures; hosted community teen forums in more than 27 cities for more than 5,000 young adults; and reached millions of viewers via HIV-related programming on the BET Network, including award-winning news specials, documentaries and public service announcements. About Queen YoNasDa pronounced Yo-Naja-Ha Although Queen YoNasDa is new to the hip-hop scene she has aligned herself with some of hip-hop’s heaviest hitters. One of her first tours included opening nationally for Wu-Tang Clan's “8 Diagrams Tour” and Raekwon and Capone N Noreaga's “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2.” As the grand-daughter of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and daughter of Wauneta Lonewolf, Queen YoNasDa has proven to be a leader by spearheading movements like "Hip-Hop for Haiti" and leading the hip-hop community in Arizona to protest the new immigration law which she considers to be racial profiling and separates families. The Arizona protest song is a remake of Public Enemy's "By the Time I Get to Arizona" and has been featured on AllHipHop.com: For more information about Queen YoNasDa, visit her website at http://QueenYoNasDa.com, become a Facebook fan at http://Facebook.com/ # # # Ella Bee Social Media & PR is a Social Media Marketing, Publicity and Public Relations in Atlanta, Georgia.
