Aug. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Mentored by South West Academy for Chief Executives Chairman Jon Penn, well known Seven Summits Challenge and Everest climber Rhys Jones has set up the 30/30 Challenge, through his social enterprise Youth Unlimited (.http://www.youthunlimited.co.uk)

Says Rhys “I came to the South West Academy for Chief Executives group (http://www.chiefexecutive.com) as a motivational speaker but was so interested by their work with business leaders that I joined the group! Since then, I have been supported every step of my business journey by Jon and my fellow members. The Academy have been very encouraging and supported me in setting up the new 30/30 Project’.

Jon added “We were inspired by Rhys when he came to speak to us and so were thrilled when he decided to join the group. His record of sporting achievement speaks for itself and we have no doubt that he will be equally successful in his business career. We are excited at how the 30/30 Project can positively impact the lives of young people throughout the country.”

The 30/30 Project is a unique, exciting and inspiring event that will take place over one weekend during the Summer Term 2011. It will involve 30 Year 9 pupils from 30 schools climbing 30 peaks in the UK all over 3000ft high. Each group of 30 will be created from 15 different schools and each group of 30 will climb one mountain.

Each participant will have to raise funds to take part and for one cause that benefits their community. In addition, each pupil must give a presentation about their experience of the 30/30 Project and the lessons they learned and will apply to their future life.
