Tulsa Day Spa Welcomes Skilled Massage Therapist From Thailand

Sept. 1, 2010 - PRLog -- Spa Lux, Tulsa's luxury day spa is proud to welcome Phonthip Moreno, a skilled massage therapist with a unique background, into the Spa Lux family. Phonthip’s (also known as Tip) specialty in Thai Massage and her experience at prestigious spa resorts in Thailand and Guam make her a perfect fit with Spa Lux.

Tip is a native of Thailand; after graduating from the Banyan Tree School of Massage in Phuket, she practiced massage at the prestigious Angsana Spa at the Sheraton Grande Laguna in Phuket. She later transferred to Guam where she met her husband while working at the Angsana Spa in the Guam Marriott Resort and Spa. The couple decided to move to Austin, Texas three years ago where she attended and graduated from the New Beginning School of Massage, completing 500 hours of additional massage therapy education. Tip and her husband, recently relocating to Tulsa, have discovered they love the area. Tip explains, "It is a quieter place with less traffic, nice people and good schools."

With Tip now practicing Thai massage at Spa Lux, owner Taras Tikimirov comments, "We are happy to have such diversity on our team here at Spa Lux."

Thai massage, also known as yoga massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. Thai massage incorporates yoga-like stretches using the therapist’s hands, knees, legs and feet. Thai massage is practiced on a padded mat on the floor and comfortable clothing is provided for each client. Many people say that Thai massage is like doing yoga without any work.
