Generac Generators Reviews

The Generac Model 5724 was reviewed in Nelson’s article. The 5724 was given a “Best” rating and reviewed on the ConsumerSearch (CS) website. The model was awarded the Good Housekeeping Seal which extended the 5724 warranty by another two years.

Best Portable Gas Generator

The other two “Best” rated portable generators reviewed were the Honeywell HW2000i and the Briggs & Stratton Elite 30242. The best generator of the three would depend on the owners electric requirements.

The Honeywell model has inverter technology which will protect TVs and computers by controlling electric surges. The model meets CARB standards, the stringent air quality standards by the California Air Resource Board.

Briggs & Stratton Gas Generator Review

The Briggs & Stratton elite 30242 model is powerful. It can run appliances and lights within a structure up to 2,000 square feet. The model has a electric starter and four AC outlets. The 30242 weighs 200 pounds.
