Sept. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- NEW YORK, NY – ShareTheMic™, a global organization to raise awareness and engage people into making positive social changes, announced the launch of One Song Helps a Million, a music-based initiative designed to increase awareness and raise funds for victims of the recent, devastating floods in Pakistan.

Submissions for an original song are being accepted through the ShareTheMic™ website through 11:59 p.m. EST, October 4, 2010 and should have a common theme of hope. Artists are required to adhere to the guidelines included on the website. Once a selection is made, the song will be recorded internationally by hundreds of artists and available for sale in the following weeks.

Kevin Patrick, Founder of ShareTheMic™ commented, “The devastation to entire villages and the unassuming people is incomprehensible. We made the decision to stand up and make a difference for fellow human beings, especially the children, who are so desperately in need of aid. There are over twenty million people…twenty million people… struggling and in immediate need of food, non-contaminated water, shelter and medical assistance/supplies. Our efforts can hopefully enlighten people to modify their prejudices, open their hearts and gain a better understanding of innocent victims tragically affected by this event.”
