Sept. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Registration is still open for  free, online workshops on diversity in business. And those attending “Five Costly Diversity Mistakes Companies Make -- And How to Avoid Them,” will receive a free $500 bonus gift, says the author of civil rights books and founder of a diversity consulting firm.

"These workshop will help businesses and organizations adapt to changing demographics in America," said Susan Klopfer, president and founder of Group Klopfer. Sign-up information is at www.susanklopfer.com.

“We’re not just getting older, our skin color is changing. Our taste for everything from food to religion is tested nearly every day. From businesses to families — new languages, food and clothing realities are emerging.

”People once called “minorities” are becoming the majority and are introducing a whole new set of likes and dislikes...and requirements. And guess what? Half the country’s population will be members of ethnic minorities by 2050, according to the U.S. Census Bureau,” Klopfer said.

Businesses and organizations must observe how their employees are responding to such change, according to the consultant and civil rights author.

“Are your employees ready to attract new diverse and global customers? Will you be able to hire and keep the best employees? Or are you just stuck with being afraid of getting sued because of discrimination or harassment perpetrated, without your knowledge, by your own untrained employees?”

These topics and more will be covered, and  each attendee is to receive a gift, valued at $500, Klopfer said.
