Palmetto Dunes Hires Chip Tucker as Group Sales Manager

Sept. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- In his new position, Tucker is responsible for soliciting and developing outside group customers to play golf, tennis and other activities at Palmetto Dunes.

Tucker joined Palmetto Dunes after working for eight years at the Daufuskie Island Resort on Daufuskie Island, S.C., where he served as Director of Golf Group Sales, Director of Membership and Head Golf Professional. He originally began his career as an Assistant Golf Professional at Palmetto Dunes in 1981 and worked at the resort for four years.

“Even though some time has passed since I first worked here,” he said, “the same values, dedication and commitment to excellence that made Palmetto Dunes great in the beginning are even stronger today.”

Upon attaining his Class A PGA status, he moved to Alabama to work as the Head Golf Professional at Alpine Bay Resort in Alpine, Ala. Over the years, he also helped start up new golf courses at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. and Golden Hills Golf and Country Club in Lexington, S.C.

Originally from Atlanta, Tucker attended Auburn University. He is married and has two children and three grandchildren. He currently resides on Hilton Head Island.
