New Charter School Opening In Hollywood

Sept. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Hollywood, CA 9/13/10 – Citizens of the World Charter School (CWC), a new K-8 charter school with a unique model that aims to be a model to be replicated to improve public education in Los Angeles and beyond will have a ribbon cutting on its first day of school, Monday 9/13/10 at 8:30am at its campus (successful proposition 39 co-location on LAUSD’s Le Conte MS campus).  

Hailed by LAUSD’s Charter Office and Board Member Zimmer as one of the best charters they have seen, CWC will open its doors for the first time to 100 Kindergarten and First Grade students.  The ribbon cutting ceremony will include all our diverse students, families and board including honorary chair and founder, Mark Gordon.

Citizens of the World Charter School is a new charter school serving 100 Kindergarten and First Grade students in its first year.  It will grow to a K-8 school over time and intends to expand and replicate and to be a model public school system.   The mission of Citizens of the World Charter Hollywood: A Public School is to provide a socio-economically, culturally and racially diverse community of students in the heart of Hollywood with an intellectually challenging, experiential learning environment that develops each individual student's confidence, potential, and individual responsibility as citizens of the world in which we live.
