There are many things people can do to keep their heart healthy.” His morning workshop on September 23 will be an interactive session covering important such important subjects as identifying personal risk factors, making effective lifestyle choices and understanding health-related numbers that impact cardiac health. “Go Red for Women” Director, Robin Johnson, will participate in the workshop by providing participants with materials from the American Heart Association that “celebrate the energy, passion and power women possess to wipe out heart disease and stroke.” Celebrating 28 years of success in 2010, The Business Women's Forum (BWF®) is led by 33 female executives dedicated to the professional and personal growth of working women. The BWF® is sponsored annually by the U.S. Small Business Administration and supported by numerous local, regional and national companies. “During the past 27 years,” explained Ward, “the BWF® has generated in excess of $100,000 in scholarship funds for female Post University students to pursue a business education. The mission of the non-profit BWF® is our continual commitment to equality of opportunity and advancement for women in business.” Kristen Rowland, chairperson of the 2010 BWF® commented, “This is a spectacular annual event for businesswomen across Connecticut” More than 1,000 business people from across Connecticut, New England and New York are anticipated to attend this annual mega-business event. Participants will be invited to attend nine different workshops being held throughout the day that will feature acclaimed speakers and trainers who will educate and inspire attendees on professional and personal levels. All the workshops will be held after Tastefully Simple CEO Jill Blashack Strahan, one of the nation’s top women entrepreneurs and an “Inc. 500” CEO All Star, shares three entrepreneurial success factors, and her philosophy for building a multi-million dollar business. Blashack-Strahan is the founder and owner of a $100-million plus enterprise of direct sales, easy-to-prepare foods and gifts that she began in a shed. 2010 BWF® workshops will include “Speak as Well as You Think: Confidence to Conviction to Action!”; “Building Relationships for Better Results”; “Breakthrough to Abundant Success: A 5-Step Plan for Your Greatest Life and Career”; “Transition Power Tools: 5 Strategies to Help You Power Through Any Transition”; “Social Media Spaghetti”; “Vocal Power and Body Language Intelligence for Women”; and “Kicking and Screaming is One Way to Get There”, a humorist’s insights and practical tools for overcoming life’s obstacles to professional and personal success.
