Ford to Showcase Focus in France

Sept. 16, 2010 - PRLog -- The Ford Motor company will be showcasing an innovative collection of new vehicles at the Paris Motor Show this fall.  This will be the first opportunity for audiences to get a look at the Ford Focus ST expected to be launched in Europe and North America next year.  The ST will feature an all new 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine designed to provide thrilling performance and handling. The contoured body is compact with a low point of gravity and a wide stance. A flashy exterior finish named “ Tangerine Scream”  and A distinctive sports interior will no doubt draw some attention..  

The new Ford Focus, developed by the company’s ONE Ford strategy, will mark the introduction of the first truly global product developed by Ford.   With plans for sales in over 120 markets worldwide the Focus ST has been designed on what Ford calls its “global C segment platform” with up to 80 percent parts-commonality globally. The platform will support at least ten vehicles globally and will account for about two million units produced annually by 2012.

The technology behind the first electric Ford model, the C-MAX plug in hybrid will also be on exhibit.  Ford plans to manufacture the C-MAX in Valencia, Spain and expects a release date in 2012 for the European market.  The C-MAX will be available in the U.S. shortly after the European release.  

Ford is one of the few auto manufacturers that have been successful at riding the wave of success year after year.  With the ability to diversify to fit a variety of markets and a continuous eye to the future, we can expect to see more exciting offerings and ideas from Ford in the months and years to come.
