KIN4LIFE Invited Instructors at Songwriters in Paradise, St. Croix, V.I. October 10-17, 2010 -- Artists First, Inc.

Sept. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Hip hop/R&B supergroup KIN4LIFE are invited instructors at the Songwriter in Paradise Retreat to be held at the beautiful Divi Carina Bay Resort and Casino in St. Croix, V.I. on October 10th -17th, 2010. Legendary songwriters and producers, Edward and Brian Holland (Holland-Dozier-Holland) will be the Keynote Speakers.

In addition to facilitating songwriting workshops and mentoring sessions, KIN4LIFE will join an international array of artists performing at the October 11th Opening Night Gala: Red Carpet on the Beach sponsored by Divi Carina Resort. Claes Cem from Denmark, (signed to Tropic Heat Studios/Gigi de Lugo), Red Carpet Rats from Nashville (Chauffeur Records), and Deanna Brown (signed to St Croix’ Ocean Records) are also scheduled to perform. The party is open to the public and admission is free; there are V.I.P. tickets available at $75 each with a portion of proceeds being donated to the non-profit Planting Peace.org, doing global work for children and families.

Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY, a town known for its contribution to hip hop in the late 80s and early 90s, KIN4LIFE is determined to bring hip hop glory back to their hometown and respect back to their genre. As young entrepreneurs, IQ and Nor founded their label, Noriq (pronounced Nor-reek) Records in 2002. Under their imprint, KIN4LIFE released an album”KIN4LIFE Volume I” and the EP “Rock Star”. The video for the hit single “Make Up Girl” held a spot on the Click List Countdown on MTV’s Logo for 11 consecutive weeks, and was nominated for The Click List's Top 10 Videos of 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/tiffjones820#p/u/63/pTG-g18xgmc). KIN4LIFE kicked off 2010 with the release of the new EP “I Love KIN4LIFE”, a tribute to the die-hard fans that have supported the group on their journey. The group’s 2010 schedule includes headlining at: the GO Magazine New York Nightlife Awards show in April; appearances in Philadelphia, Toronto, Houston, Columbia, S.C. and other cities; and performing at Inferno Dominican Republic on Labor Day weekend.

KIN4LIFE admits their first love is emceeing but their production and songwriting skills make them a hot commodity behind the scenes. Working with the hottest up and coming hip hop and R&B and pop acts, KIN4LIFE garners comparison to Missy Elliot and The Neptunes, which prompted them to form Noriq Records’ subsidiaries, Red Eye Productions and The KIN Factory (writing and production). KIN4LIFE recently showcased their talent as producers, winning the “King of the ATL” battle at the industry proving ground Producer’s Swap Meet in Atlanta in the fall of 2009. Their song, "Money Brings Trouble", has been selected for placement in the feature film "Changing the Game" directed by Rel Dowdell and scheduled for a 2011 nationwide release.

Songwriters in Paradise is the inaugural event of The "In Paradise" Retreat Series, founded by multi-award winning music publisher and visionary, Gigi de Lugo, a fourth generation Virgin Islander. Not only does Gigi look forward to welcoming the music community to her island home, but she is working to create significant educational opportunities and long term cultural and economic benefits for the people of the Virgin Islands through her program series. "What is unique about this series," she explains," is that you won't just be enjoying the beautiful tropical location, you will be making a significant contribution to the people who live and work there while also having the chance to interact with our island's music pioneers - a priceless experience that I believe will generate life-changing relationships for all concerned."

The event will feature personal mentoring for songwriters, group sessions, workshops and industry panels. Many of the events will be broadcast live via Livestream to allow audiences in the Caribbean and around the world to share in many of the S.I.P. events; others will be filmed for future broadcast distribution & DVD.
