Alabama Hyundai Motor Manufacturer Begins Production on Elantra

Sept. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- Beginning later this fall, the 2011 Hyundai Elantra will join its larger sibling, the Sonata, in production at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama to increase Hyundai’s U.S. production capacity.

“Hyundai’s philosophy is to build our vehicles where we sell them, and with the addition of the Elantra to our U.S. production mix we now manufacture our three most popular models right here in the U.S.,” said John Krafcik, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America.

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) has remand one of the highest quality plays in Hyundai’s worldwide operations and has been consistent throughout focusing on quality.

Already on sale in South Korea, the redesigned Elantra aims to generate more popularity for the United States market. The Elantra makes for the perfect family car that focuses more on performance and practicality over luxury.

“We’re thrilled to be adding another pillar of the Hyundai lineup to our production mix here at HMMA,” said Ashley Frye, director of production, HMMA. “We’ve been extremely proud to build both Sonata and Santa Fe on our assembly line, both of which have been hugely successful models for Hyundai in the U.S. and we hoep to carry that momentum with us as we embark on the new 2011 Elantra.”

Production for the 2011 Elantra will begin this fall and will hit the market in early 2011, but will make its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November.

The recent move of the Santa Fe to a production facility in Georgia will also begin this fall.

All Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by the Hyundai Assurance program which now includes the 5-year/60,000 mile fully transferable bumper-to-bumper warranty. Hyundai’s 10-year/100,000 mile power train warranty and 5-year complimentary Roadside Assistance in addition to the highly acclaimed vehicle return policy introduced in early 2009.
