Cherri House

   CONCORD, CA, May 15, 2010—C&T Publishing is pleased to introduce Cherri House, author of City Quilts - 12 Dramatic Projects Inspired By Urban Views, a new book released in May 2010. With City Quilts, both sewers and quilters can express their love of cityscapes by making beautiful quilts with beginner-friendly projects. The book explains the secrets of minimalist design and how to find beauty in the basic elements of your environment. Cherri believes there are endless design possibilities in everything from parks to parking lots!

When asked why cities have been so inspirational to her, Cherri explains, “I love cities, big and small, and I especially love downtown areas. The adventure of walking in a new city is like unwrapping a present. I love the high-rises with their varied windows; there are fascinating patterns everywhere. The quilts in this book are inspired by buildings, parks and shops.”

House is a member of the popular Modern Quilt Guild. Founded in October of 2009, the guild has already garnered a huge following across the country. Its members describe modern quilting as “a new twist on the traditional art of quilting.” House shares her quiltmaking inspiration and her stunning photography on her popular blog, Cherry House Quilts.
