In Jennifer Chiaverini’s 9th novel in the Elm Creek series, Circle of Quilters, she tells the story of two founding members of the Elm Creek Quilts Camp who decide to leave the fold. The remaining members had to select two new teachers to join their staff, which is really more like a family. As a part of the application process for the teaching position, each of the five finalists was instructed to design an “Elm Creek Quilts” quilt block as a test of their quilting skills, creativity, and understanding of the spirit of Elm Creek Quilts.
To celebrate the release of this novel, Chiaverini invited her fans to design an original quilt block and submit it for consideration to become the new logo for Elm Creek Quilts. The entries were as delightful and varied as those in the story, and the block that best captured the spirit of Elm Creek Quilts was chosen from among ten finalists by an online vote. The winning block was made Jane Klocker .

C&T Publishing’s new eBook features a sampler quilt showcasing the blocks from the top ten finalists, with patterns so Elm Creek fans can make their own versions—and perhaps be inspired to add their own Elm Creek Quilts blocks.
