CONCORD, CA, May 1, 2010—At the recent Art Materials World 2010 trade show and convention, the International Art Materials Trade Association-NAMTA along with American Artist Magazine, and Hart Business Research, presented the first-ever series of awards for Business Innovation in the Art Materials market. C&T Publishing and ColArt Americas were awarded Runner-up for the Liquitex® Surface Design Center Art Materials Association Awards C&T Publishing for Innovation

CONCORD, CA, May 1, 2010—At the recent Art Materials World 2010 trade show and convention, the International Art Materials Trade Association-NAMTA along with American Artist Magazine, and Hart Business Research, presented the first-ever series of awards for Business Innovation in the Art Materials market. C&T Publishing and ColArt Americas were awarded Runner-up for the Liquitex® Surface Design Center and specifically for the business innovation required in creating the Liquitex® Surface Design Center. It included creating a countertop rack complete with surface design educational materials, paints, mediums, inks and surfaces to help users understand surface design options and techniques. This was a new sales frontier to serve the art quilting and fiber art markets.

It just made good business sense to create a simple but complete program that would provide quilt shops and art supply retailers with the right combination of educational materials and products to address this category. The Surface Design Center has proven to be an astoundingly successful launch into a new market. Since the product has launched, C&T has sold almost 100 Surface Design Centers.
