Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- The South Street Players are presenting Frankenstein: The Monster Play, by Christopher O'Neal, based on the novel by Mary Shelley at Wesley Hall (4th & Mercer) behind St Andrew's United Methodist Church in Spring Lake, NJ.

This classic tale of horror and suspense is being directed by Maggie Rogers, and details the ill-fated experiments of young Dr. Frankenstein as he attempts to fathom the secrets of life and death.  He gives life to a creature both hideous and touching - and so physically powerful and mentally twisted that he soon brings death or destruction to all who stand in his way.  The Frankenstein monster symbolizes the uncontrollable monmster that science can become.  Because eh does not look like the rest of us, we call him ugly and we fear him.  And because we fear him, we want to destroy him.  We do not take the time to look beneath the ugliness or to ask what his needs and desires are.

Performances are Fri & Sat Oct 15th & 16th at 8pm, Fri & Sat Oct 22nd & 23rd at 8pm, Sun Oct 24th at 2pm, and Fri & Sat Oct 29th & 30th at 8pm.

$22.00 for regular tickets, $20.00 for seniors and students.  For Information and Reservations: call 732-447-5169.
