Sept. 29, 2010 - PRLog -- Fort Collins, CO - During the weekend of November 5-7, 2010, World Animal Awareness Society Executive Director Tom McPhee will allow one guest to accompany him to meet Dr. Temple Grandin.  You will sit in on the filming session with Tom McPhee and Dr. Temple Grandin.  The FOCUS of the shoot is the evolution of the human species utilizing the perspective of other species. Dr. GRANDIN will teach us how to see and film as if we are a non-human animal.

Your actual itinerary will be determined based on Dr. Temple Grandin, Tom McPhee and World Animal Awareness Society - WA2S.org schedule. Donor is responsible for all travel expenses (including, but not limited to airfare, lodging, & meals) and any other arrangements to meet Tom McPhee & Dr. Grandin in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Dr Temple Grandin is a practical problem solver, a powerful visual thinker, and a leader in animal welfare and autism.  She designs humane animal handling facilities all over the world and is a Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University.  Dr. Grandin has authored more than 400 scientific articles on animal handling, animal welfare, and humane facility design.  She is the author of "Thinking in Pictures", "Livestock Handling and Transport," "Genetics and the Behavior of Domestic Animals," "Humane Livestock Handling", "Animals in Translation" and "Animals Make Us Human".  Her life story has been made into a multi-Emmy Award winning movie. Executive Director and Founder of the World Animal Awareness Society, Tom McPhee is an award winning producer and director of film, TV, and multi-language interactive media.   He owns two media companies, Cave Studio and Man Smiling Moving Pictures.   Tom served as producer and host/character for two animal centric TV shows broadcast across Canada on The Pet Network in 2009.  Tom is the Producer & Director of the multi-award-winning documentary An American Opera: The Greatest Pet Rescue Ever!  Through the World Animal Awareness Society, Tom scours the nation for stories to film at the human/animal intersection.  Tom has been on expedition recently filming the animal relief efforts that occurred shortly after the earthquake in Haiti and has been leading the ALL EYES ON THE GULF Expedition chronicling the effects on Life in the Gulf of Mexico after the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster since early May 2010.

The mission of the World Animal Awareness Society is to focus a lens on a wide range of human-animal interactions in order to have a filmed record of our behavior in expectation that it will create a window to observe human evolution. The moving image is arguably the rawest, most powerful educational tool we have to witness our behavioral patterns, attitudes and interactions and aid us in our continued growth.
