Veterans Job Creation Program to Create Jobs For Former Homeless Veterans

Former homeless veterans will be put to work delivering door hangers and postcards as part of the Veterans Job Creation Program. The Veterans Job Creation Program was established by US Navy Submarine Veteran and Mortgage Banker Mark Field who has hired veterans to deliver postcards in the past instead of using the more costly direct mail with the US Postal Service. The veterans at the shelters are so appreciative for the opportunity to work. The reality is that due to unforeseen circumstances, any veteran could end up jobless and ultimately homeless.

It was felt that the veterans could deliver the material as well and needing the opportunity for work. The goal is to establish the Veterans Job Creation Program as a national program putting hundreds of thousands of veterans to work in America, starting here in Arizona and already in the works in California. "I am honored to be a part of this program and I feel helping former homeless veterans find work is the most important work I will do in my lifetime", states Mark Field.

PEP SOLAR (PhoenixEnergyProducts.com) has committed to be the first Arizona based company to be a sponsor of the Veterans Job Creation Program. Distribution day, referred to as D-Day, will start on October 1, 2010 with distribution starting in Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria and Sun City West. PEP SOLAR has also committed to employing veterans for other areas including Anthem, Tempe, Chandler, Scottsdale, Gilbert and Mesa.

There will be additional work for veterans doing telemarketing work to set solar appointments with homeowners. They are also committed to employing veterans for solar installations throughout Arizona. PEP SOLAR was established in 1978 and pioneered in solar energy in Arizona by installing solar panels on hundreds of homes on the Navajo Reservation in 1982. PEP Solar is proud to hire veterans and can be reached at 623-806-8806.

There are numerous companies considering utilizing the veterans for distribution. We are talking to some major corporations to handle delivery of door hangers and various forms of marketing material. We hope that consumers will want to hire companies that put veterans to work. Other businesses are welcome to participate in employing veterans to deliver door hangers, postcards, flyers, newspapers, magazines, phonebooks, etc.

Veterans from the Madison Street Veterans Shelter (MANA House, 755 E. Willetta St, Phoenix) (www.madisonstreetveterans.org) and will expand to include veterans from US Veterans Initiative, 802 E. Jones Street, Phoenix (www.usvetsinc.org).

The first year goal is to generate 10,000 man hours of work for veterans in Arizona. The
Veterans Job Creation Program operates without any government funding.
