Behind this free music fund-raiser is a multicultural musician named DARIA. A five-time award-winning musician, DARIA (full ethnic name – Daria Marmaluk-Hajioannou) From a mixed bag of heritages including years spent in Native American, Latin-American as well as mainstream USA, Daria has often seen “the kids that get left out” and had always performed songs from various heritages and celebrated these cultures in concert. In the past 15 years, her musical projects have taken her everywhere from South America to Europe and the Middle East and she has collaborated on projects in Kenya and on several US Native American reservations. Her music is used widely in US classrooms as well as in projects in South Africa and in Australia as part of “Teaching Tolerance” and “Respecting Others” curriculums.
