Oct. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- BBC News conducted an experiment in 2009 to find out the impact of global trade in world economy. To complete this experiment, they sent a shipping container on a journey around the world. The news corporation used GPS and manual calculations to keep track of the container’s location and after one year and more than 50,000 miles the container was returned to the BBC Television Center in West London. The BBC Box project kept track of the container through TV, radio and online media. It speaks volumes about the reach of the shipping industry when even through the global recession, the box kept on traveling and carrying products from one part of the world to another. The box was in transit for total of 421 days and it traveled approximately 51,654 miles. Most of the distance traveled by the container was through shipping, close to 47,076 miles. After reaching in London, the container was donated to charitable causes and converted to a soup kitchen in Africa.

The journey of the container from London to China, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, New York and Bangkok shows the penetration of shipping containers in global trade. Today, investing in shipping containers is one of the best investment schemes because the containers are always in demand in the expanding shipping industry. Pacific Tycoon is a shipping investment company that offers great opportunities for investors to invest money in shipping containers and the company also offers 12% guaranteed income plan for investors who want to invest long term. For investors who want to invest short term, the company has Aggressive Plan under which they place the container in the markets with maximum demand.
