FIFI - Le Marche Gourmet Food Festival 2010

Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI) organised a food festival at DLF Place Saket on 16-17 October with the aim to increase the popularity & consumption of imported foods in the country.

Oct. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- "We specifically selected DLF Place due to higher footfalls and larger space for brand promotion. There was great consumer response towards our food sampling initiative and an increase in the number of consumers buying foreign foods" Said Amit Lohani, Convenor of FIFI . The list of invitees included the Embassy of Greece , Ecuador , Spain , Columbia.

The sampling was for Cheese , Pasta , Meats , Breakfast Cereals , Wafer Rolls, Yoghurt's , Lemonade's , Cold Cuts , Blueberries , Cranberries . The consumer was delighted by the selection of World foods and happy to find it in stores around them.

Around 15 food importers (FIFI members) will endorse their brands during the food festival. Those participating in the food festival are Max Foods, L-Comps Impex, Dugar Overseas, Glico India, Trustin Brands Marketing, Suresh Kumar & Co, Resources International, RP Gourmet, Vriddhi Specialty, Saksham Impex, BMS, Bajoria Foods, Three Rings Exim, Mass Impex and Inducia. Each importer will be allocated a separate stall in the mall-pathway leading to the store.

Our Forum FIFI represents Food & Beverage Importers from India. The objective of the FIFI is a common platform for promoting, encouraging & Supporting Food Importers from India and for development and facilitation of Trade. Its an organization to highlight issues like Non Tariff Barriers, High Customs Duties, PFA laws, Inter-state Taxations & Borders Laws. The forum also wanted to present a united front to the Different Government bodies, Business forums, trade commissions & International chambers.

FIFI liaise with various government agencies to undertake a review of Import Policy Regulations and Food Labelling laws to reduce the regulatory burden on food importers without compromising State Revenue , Consumer Health & Safety. Such a review in fresh perspective would provide manifold growth to the general trade leading to improved GDP.
