This Winter do not become a victim of a Mobility Scooter fire!

Oct. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service adheres to the policy that protected corridors and staircases, as well as common areas in flats and sheltered housing are to be maintained as sterile areas at all times. A sterile area should not contain any flammable items or materials, any items or substances that may act as an ignition source or objects that could pose as trip hazards.

Mobility scooters offer an increased fire loading and potential source of ignition. If involved in fire they can release large amounts of highly toxic smoke and gases. If stored in protected corridors,staircases or common areas (sterile areas) a fire in a mobility scooter could affect the means of escape and place an unacceptable risk to all occupiers within the building. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 would expect such risks to be mitigated.

Securit Scooter Store are manufactured in either 1.2mm or 0.9mm galvanised steel and secured with a Sterling t-bar locking system or deadlocks. They are fitted and supplied with an integral steel floor, 1/2" low door bar, wide doors, air vents, IP54 three pin socket and hole drilled into the side of the store to allow access for wiring the socket to the mains.

Design’s can be altered or adapted to suite your customer’s requirements e.g. alter the size, additional locks, powder coating any colour, matting, grab rails & alarms etc.

Securit (GB) Ltd offers a quality made product that can be delivered nationwide, assembled (if required) as well as a full after care service. All our stores are supplied flat packed as standard or for a small additional fee can be assembled at your address.
