Canada Committed to Sustainable EduTourism

The Canadian not for profit group CETA continues to push to raise the awareness of the social, environmental and economic importance of Sustainable EduTourism.



In its' efforts, CETA President, Lana Wood, just announced two additional speakers to join a group of impressive presenters for the upcoming International Conference on Sustainable EduTourism, being held in Havana Cuba, November 7-9.  



"We are dedicated to raising the awareness of the benefits of collaboration for sustainable edutourism results and the experts being made available through this event will give the delegates the opportunity to develop and move forward with their own sustainable tourism initiatives", Ms Wood explains.



Joining experts such as Dr. Ted Manning, who will be presenting on UNWTO Sustainable Tourism Indicators and Performance Measures, and Michael Haywood who will be leading a discussion on Key Social and Economic Impacts of Sustainable Edutourism, are Rick Welsford from Nova Scotia and Gloria Martin Sanchez from Cuba.  



Mr. Welsford, Executive Director of Sable Island Preservation will be sharing his knowledge of underwater tourism & artifical reef product development and Ms.Martin, Cuban Ministry of Tourism/Formatur will be presenting on environmental education in workers within the tourism industry.



The Canadian Ambassador to Cuba, Matthew Levin will give opening remarks at this event which will be attended by over a dozen countries and is designed to explore and identify opportunities and benefits that exist when the Educational, Cultural , Environment and Tourism/Hospitality sectors collaborate to identify and promote a region’s unique EduTourism offerings



The CETA International Conference on Sustainable EduTourism is a unique partnership spearheaded by Canadian organizers CETA (Canadian EduTourism Associates Cooperative Limited), and is supported by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, Canadian Embassy in Havana and other International partnerships. Registrations are still being accepted.
