Follow on Google News | Business training awards 2011 now open for nominationsThe Excellence in Business Training Awards are open for submissions. Now in their fourth year, the awards (hosted by Cornwall College Business, attract applications from companies large and small in Devon and Cornwall.
By: Lucy Thornton Any business in the region can enter the 2011 awards, demonstrating how they have used staff training to improve their profitability, staff morale, retention, performance and to gain competitive advantage. Organisations must submit their application online or on paper by midnight on Friday 19th November. “Training and advertising often get cut when budgets are tight. But these awards celebrate companies and individuals who have committed to training as a means of developing themselves and their organisations,” The shortlisted nominees will be invited to a glittering awards ceremony at the Headland Hotel Newquay on 27th January 2011, where the overall winner for each category will be announced. Tamsyn Harris added: “Continuously developing the skills of a business is fundamental to its success – to meet some of the employers and staff from the region who are real proof of this is humbling and always a delight.” Dave Linnell, Principal of Cornwall College, said: “Competition for the awards this year will be tough, as so many local companies have taken up training opportunities available to them. If the evening is anything like as enjoyable as last year, it should be superb so I look forward to celebrating with businesses from the region.” The Excellence in Business Training Awards are open to any business that has undertaken training within the last twelve months, and you can enter as many categories as you would like. The categories are: Outstanding Commitment to Training Outstanding Commitment to Training (SME) Outstanding Commitment to Apprenticeships Commitment to Graduate Development Achievement of Significant Business Impact Training Programme of the Year Excellence in Environmental Training Individual Achievement Apprentice of the Year The closing date for applications is midnight Friday 19th November.
