Nov. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Entry forms for the 5th Annual Student Competition are now available at the Miami Coalition for the Homeless website (http://www.miamihomeless.org).  The Coalition created the competition to raise awareness of the homeless issue among high school aged students.  The 5th Annual Student Competition is open to all students attending 9th through 12th grade at a Miami-Dade County Public or Charter High School.

This year's theme is “Homelessness: Just Look Around”.  The theme is open to creative interpretation and entries should capture the hearts and minds of viewers. Winning entries will be showcased at the 2011 Miami International Film Festival (http://www.miamifilmfestival.com).

An independent panel of judges will determine the winning entries in the categories of Public Service Announcement and Short Film.  The judging panel will include representatives from the CBS4 (WFOR), TV 33 (WBFS), the Miami International Film Festival, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and community and business leaders.
