Nov. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Good Chevrolet is proud to announce the “New Car and Truck Dealers Driving Strong Communities!” Auto Dealers Scholarship through the Washington State Auto Dealers Association.

Since 2008, the Washington State Auto Dealers Association (WSADA) scholarship program has awarded thousands of dollars to students across the state. With the theme of “New Car and Truck Dealers - Driving Strong Communities”, the 2011 WSADA scholarship program asks applicants to conceptualize a public service announcement showcasing how Washington new car and truck dealers help people across the state through the National Automobile Dealers Charitable Foundation (NADCF).

Students are asked to design their public service announcement around one of these areas of NADCF support:

   * Saving lives by donating CPR manikins to train people in lifesaving techniques
   * Helping alleviate students' financial hardships by contributing to college emergency funds
   * Ensuring personal mobility by helping organizations like Canine Companions for Independence.

“Our dealer members as individuals are very active in supporting education as well as NADCF,” said WSADA Executive Vice President Vicki Giles Fabré, “so we’re especially pleased to combine the two into a scholarship program.”

Application deadline is March 6, 2011. For more details please visit http://goodchevroletblog.com/blog-news/, where you can view this press release and download the Program Guidelines pdf.

WSADA serves 300 franchised new-car and truck dealers in 75 communities across the state. Together, dealers employ nearly 18,000 people with a combined payroll of over $850 million. Dealership sales total 10.2% of the state’s retail sales, generating hundreds of millions of dollars of tax revenue for state and local governments through sales, corporate, and payroll tax revenue.

WSADA has engaged College Planning Network (CPN), a local non-profit organization, to administer the scholarship. For over 20 years, CPN has assisted Pacific Northwest students seeking higher education opportunities and has provided scholarship administration for numerous organizations.

Good Chevrolet is a proud member of the WSADA and contributing dealership for this scholarship program. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the scholarship program at (888 347-1517, or online at http://www.goodchevrolet.com.
