Glen Guarino in Works in Wood

Nov. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Glen Guarino will exhibit three of his one-of-a kind furniture and mirrors in Works in Wood.  The exhibition will be at the New Hope Arts Center November 20, 2010 to December 19, 2010.  Opening Reception is Saturday, November 20, 2010 from to 6:00pm to 8:00pm.   Admission is $10.00 or $5.00 for seniors, students and members of the art center.  Regular gallery hours are  Thursday  through  Sunday  12:00pm  to  4:00pm. The New Hope Arts Center is located at 2 Stockton Avenue,  New Hope,  PA  18938  (Corner of Bridge Street and Stockton Avenue).

The center is well known for hosting this annual juried show. They are "dedicated to increasing awareness and support for contemporary arts and artists."  New Hope has been named "The Top Small Town Arts Destination in America" by American Style magazine.

Glen Guarino's love for wood began as a small child; he has been designing and making furniture since 1978.   He draws from Asian, African and Egyptian aesthetics as well as other influences. Some of his pieces have an Art Deco influence, others very contemporary, but his designs are always his own.  

Guarino has appeared in numerous publications and has been interviewed radio and cable television and he regularly shows in galleries and museums. Guarino's art will be displayed in George Segal Gallery, Montclair, New Jersey in January and February. In February, Guarino will be a Guest Speaker/Exhibitor at Wood Expo 2011 in Seaport World Trade Center, Boston MA and then in March he will be in the Architectural Digest Home Show in Manhattan. He is an Adjunct Professor at William Paterson University Fine Arts Department.
