Over 10,000 copies of the Rebuilding Your House of Self-Respect book and workbook have been distributed internationally to help men deal with the painful experience of childhood sexual abuse and offer them the gift of hope. It may very well be the only resource of its kind in North America.

The project started out with a support group of seven men and their facilitator over a decade ago. During the group's journey, it became clear there was very little written material on male sexual abuse recovery. So these group members expressed an eagerness to help others through having their comments recorded, sorted, and categorized, which ultimately led to the creation of these two products. They have become a vital resource for facilitating a difficult healing journey. And according to Ellen Campbell, Executive Director of the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness, "Every person or organization working with male victims needs this resource."

Tom Wilken is the program coordinator for Hope and Healing Associates, which founded the Silence to Hope Project and provides group facilitation and referrals for males who have been sexually abused. He has been honored by the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness for the second consecutive year.
