Access Information Management of Tallahassee Hosts a Go Green Community Shredding Event

No-cost event designed to promote personal privacy protection and paper recycling

Nov. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Access Information Management, leading provider of records management storage and destruction services for hardcopy and electronic records will host a no-cost community shred event in partnership with ResortQuest in Tallahassee on Saturday, November 20, 2010. The event will provide eco-friendly, secure document shredding to the Tallahassee community.

The local Access mobile shredding truck will be onsite and ready to destroy no longer needed personal documents on Saturday, demonstrating how secure document shredding decreases the opportunity for the illicit discovery of confidential records which leads to identity theft. Each year thousands of households improperly dispose of personal data, including tossing pages with confidential information in the trash.

Access business practices support sound records and information management (RIM) and are environmentally friendly. As part of a thriving, secure destruction service offering, Access shreds thousands of tons of paper, e-waste and products each year, protecting sensitive personal and corporate data for thousands of clients. Following the destruction of old records, the resulting matter is recycled and used to make products such as cardboard, paper towels and tissue.

“This type of event allows us to lead by example and give back to the communities we serve. Identity theft is on the rise, our country’s landfills are overflowing and there are people in the community that need help – these are all areas where a focused effort can make a big difference, especially when we come together to show our support,” said David Gesinger, Executive Vice President, Operations, Access Information Management. “Access is proud to join forces with ResortQuest to raise awareness and help make a difference – providing services and education to protect the data privacy of individuals and organizations; promoting a greener environment and embracing the needs of our collective community.”

The Access Tallahassee Go Green Shred Event will take place on Saturday, November 20, 2010 in the ResortQuest parking lot, located at: 35000 Emerald Coast Parkway, Destin, Florida. Participants are invited to bring up to five bankers boxes or bags of old records to be shredded free of charge. A fee will apply to items in excess of the five box or bag limit. A complete list of Access shred events is available online at: http://accesscorp.com/shred-event.htm.

In honor of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, participants are encouraged to participate in a canned food drive to benefit the Harvest Foodbank. Access pledges to match the food donations on Saturday, doubling the volume of food that will be donated at the close of the event to help feed the hungry throughout the Big Bend.
