XYIENCE Team Athlete Matt “The Terror” Serra Hosts Poker Tournament Nov. 23, 2010

UFC fighter Matt Serra, a brand ambassador for XYIENCE, will host the $1,000 UFC Matt Serra Bounty Tournament, an online sweepstakes tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. EST.

Nov. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- LAS VEGAS —Matt “The Terror” Serra is a former welterweight champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), but if mixed martial arts fans think they have what it takes to submit Serra in poker, he has three words for them: BRING IT ON. Serra, a brand ambassador for XYIENCE, will host the $1,000 UFC Matt Serra Bounty Tournament, an online sweepstakes tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. EST. Although there is no fee to enter, players must register at www.ufcpoker.com anytime between now and 6:45 p.m. PST on Nov. 23.    

The first-place winner will receive $500 and second through ninth place competitors each will receive $25. The player who knocks the MMA icon out of the game receives $300. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with Serra through a chat function in the poker room. The maker of Xenergy, the official energy drink of the UFC, is the tournament’s official sponsor.

“I’m on top of my poker game right now,” says Serra, the first American to earn a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under the acclaimed MMA athlete and coach Renzo Gracie. “I’m not afraid to challenge all the fans out there to get online and see if you can take me out of the game—and have some fun.” He adds, “The UFC Poker Room and this tournament are great ways for MMA fans everywhere to get together and have a great time playing poker.” Serra, he currently lives in his hometown of Long Island, where he runs two Serra Jiu-Jitsu Training Academy locations.
