Nov. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Mumbai, November 24, 2010 – Diners at Vetro, the contemporary Italian restaurant at The Oberoi, Mumbai, can now savour the choicest seasonal flavours every month as Chef Tuomas Heikkinen introduces Seasonal Lunch Specials.  Priced at Rs. 1,350 (inclusive of taxes), the seasonal lunch offerings change daily, and offer a selection from the antipasti bar, soup, a variety of pastas, and dessert.

“We’re endeavoring to give ‘lunch on the go’ a new meaning, without making our guests compromise on either the quality of the food, or on the space in which they dine,” says Michael Farquhar, Director of Food & Beverage at The Oberoi, Mumbai.  “Vetro provides guests a sophisticated dining venue, as well as an extensive lunch menu, at a highly competitive price.  What’s more, we’re able to provide our diners with an entire lunch experience in 45 minutes – so that they can be back at their desks within an hour.”

Guests may begin at the anti pasti table, where they can choose from an assortment of the finest charcuterie and cheeses, salads, and other light and healthy options, which can in themselves make an entire meal for the calorie-conscious.  A soup of the day is available as well, and includes options such as cream of fennel or porcini mushroom soup with potato emulsion.  The primi piatti offers a varied selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian home-made pastas such as penne with cherry tomatoes, fried aubergine and buffalo mozzarella; lasagna made of veal and pork ragout with green peas; linguine, Cochin lobster, cherry tomato and basil; or pappardelle pasta, red wine, slow-roasted lamb and radicchio.  A freshly baked tart of the day and other desserts such as fresh sheep’s milk with pears and walnut; pistachio bavaroise with gingerbread ice cream; and signature specialties including Tiramisu and panna cotta provide the perfect sweet ending to the meal.  Freshly-brewed tea and coffee are also on offer.

Guests can experience the culinary specialties of Italy with Chef Tuomas as he pairs the choicest of seasonal ingredients and crafts a new seasonal lunch special every day.

The Vetro Seasonal Lunch specials are available for lunch only from 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. at Rs. 1350, all inclusive.
