To build your solar power plant at home you need the following

- Solar power panels that capture sun's light and converts it to electricity

- Batteries which allow you to have uninterrupted power even when the sun is down like in the nights or on cloudy days.

- Inverter, which takes the power generated in your panels and makes it more suitable to current home needs.

Solar panels produce a small amount of voltage by trapping sunlight. The inverter then converts the voltage generated in the PV cells to the required voltage, which, is generally used in our homes. What you need to look for is the wattage or amperage, which will tell you the power that one solar panel, can generate.

Some panels have better efficiency than others. Which means they convert more light into energy but the more efficient panels are more expensive. If space is a constraint then you will have to go for the more efficient panels. This way you will need lesser number of panels. If space is plenty then the inexpensive panels will work just fine. You will just need more of them.

There are options for every requirement, just browse through the Internet for solar panels or go through renewable energy magazines and you will find the various options open to you. Get Internet #1 - Solar Panels Your Home Cost @ http://energycure01.webs.com and start cutting your bills now!

Many types of solar power cells are available each with different power generating capacity. The character of the solar cell is dependent upon the substance from which it is manufactured. There are basically three types of solar cells from which photovoltaic panels are made: Thin-film, monocrystalline, or polycrystalline cells.

The thin-film solar cell is made of amorphous-silicon alloy. This alloy is stored in thin layers, which are in turn deposited on a substrate. Thin-film photovoltaic panels are the most affordable. Another advantage is they can be molded into shapes. The flexibility allows for them to be mounted in places where other solar cells can't be placed. Efficiency is lower but that is the price you pay for its flexibility

Monocrystalline solar panels are created from a single silicon crystal rod. It has a rigid structure. This silicon rod is then cut into thin wafers. These thin wafers form the base within which monocrystalline solar cells are formed. This type of cell is most efficient when sunlight is weak. So, they tend to cost the most of all type of PV panels.

Polycrystalline solar cells are made from a number of silicon crystals that are heated and cooled together in molds to form ingots of silicon. This ingot is then cut into thin wafers and processed to produce solar cells. These poly PV panels are less efficient compared to the mono PV panels but at the same time they cost less.

As you see there are options available for every need. Your may require the flexibility of a thin-film solar cell and at such times efficiency may take the back seat, on the other hand if space is real constraint then you may need to go in for the monocrystalline panels that are more efficient. If cost is an important factor then you can go in for the polycrystalline solar cells. Again the panels are available in various options so, you can choose the one that best suits your needs.
