Massachusetts Green Recruiter Employs Sustainability

The company recently took their commitment to excellence to a higher level by becoming members of the Green Business Bureau (GBB) where they have begun their green business certification process.

“I chose the GBB over other programs because of GBB’s reputation, its support for green business, and its commitment to environmental responsibility,” says Joseph Bahnam, ecoGlobeX’s founder and CEO.

As a consultancy and recruiting firm for companies and leaders in the renewable energy and environmental sectors, staff and consultants at ecoGlobeX differentiate themselves as specialists in the sustainable energy sector.  When it came to green certification, however, ecoGlobeX knew they needed to affiliate itself with an equally knowledgeable organization to achieve its goals.

“I joined GBB because GBB is the only company that I believe have set the standards in the industry for a comprehensive green business certification,” says Mr. Bahnam.  “I have also had a wonderful experience with GBB’s customer service response time, and their staff member’s knowledge, which is key in the service industry.”

As a company offering a green service, it’s no surprise that ecoGlobeX  already had many green practices in place when it joined the GBB.  In fact, the list of practices was so lengthy that once Mr. Bahnam completed the GBB’s initial assessment, ecoGlobeX was awarded Platinum status, GBB’s highest level of membership.

“Our assessment is designed to give businesses credit for the green practices they already have in place when they come to us,” says Marcos Cordero, GBB Co-founder and CEO. “Companies like ecoGlobeX that have an extensive list of measures in place, often find that they have enough points to qualify for Gold or Platinum status from the outset of their membership with us.”

ecoGlobeX‘s green commitment was apparent through its establishment of a green supply chain, an office “green team” to act as green champions, and a written corporate sustainability statement.  Practical measures included purchasing and using recycled toner, paper products and office furniture/equipment.  ecoGlobeX‘s  green practices extend through to the end of material and equipment life-cycles, when batteries, toner cartridges, and electronics are properly recycled or disposed of.

Moving forward, Mr. Bahnam says that he is most looking forward to using ecoGlobeX’s green status to support the local Boston green economy.
