Dec. 8, 2010 - PRLog -- Kensa Engineering - http://www.kensaengineering.com - are now able to offer clients £1,200.00 CERT funding on domestic installations which are completed by the end of February 2011. Following the closure of the LCBP in May 2010, and the uncer-tainty regarding the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), there is certainly a case for homeowners and developers holding off on their decision making.

Kensa are partnered with Scottish and Southern Energy to deliver CERT funding towards ground source heat pump installations. CERT is money which Scottish and Southern Energy are obliged, by the government, to make available for energy saving measures and the installation of energy saving products.

The £1200 funding is available for projects installed and commissioned through Kensa's network of partners, providing it meets the conditions of CERT as outlined below. The funding has now become available to our customers due to the recent confirmation from the Department for En-ergy and Climate Change (DECC), that receiving CERT funding will NOT effect eligibility for RHI. (For more information on the proposed Renewable Heat Incentive, download the factsheet from our website by clicking here)

The Key Points

-  The CERT grant is £1,200 or 20% whichever is lower.

-  The homeowner or developer has 30 days to claim the grant from date of commissioning.

-  Kensa will pay the client within 60 days from receipt of completed grant form.

-  The grant covers the heat pump, ground arrays, antifreeze and manifold only, it does not cover cylinders   or installation costs.

-  The scheme is open until the 28th February 2010. Orders which have already been placed are not applicable.

-  The grant is not available for properties on the main gas network. If there are planning constraints i.e. meeting levels 3 or 4 of the code for sustainable homes or a renewable obligation, then the grant is ineligible.

-  The grant is open to homeowners or developers. The grant is calculated on the costs the customer pays for the system.

-  To ensure that all eligible projects receive this funding, it is essential that we have sufficient time to complete the installation and commissioning before February 28th 2011.

To reiterate - grants can only be applied for once the heat pump is commissioned and will be issued on a first come first serve basis.

Furthermore social housing retrofit projects have access to higher levels of funding, to reflect the 'priority groups status' of their tenants. Any schemes featuring solid fuel or direct electric replacement will secure the highest levels of funding with up to £5500 per property available.
