National Agents Alliance Holds First Advisory Board Conference At Its Headquarters

Albright taps first advisory panel to shape future of National Agents Alliance.

Dec. 10, 2010 - PRLog -- BURLINGTON, N.C. – National Agents Alliance has formed an advisory board for the first time in company history, National Agents Alliance President and Chief Executive Officer Andy Albright announced Wednesday.

The announcement followed the board’s first meeting on Nov. 30 at the Burlington, N.C.-based company’s headquarters, where Albright met with the panel, which consists of some of National Agents Alliance’s top agency managers, key personnel, outside advisers and a unspecified number of board alternates.

Earlier this year, McColl Partners, LLC acted as financial advisor to National Agents Alliance in its capital raise with Mutual of Omaha Bank to enable Albright and his company to consolidate ownership and strengthen its position in the highly competitive insurance brokerage industry.

According to Albright, the panel of board members met for eight hours and formulated a strategic plan going forward with the financial services company.

“We had a big planned meeting and it was the first ever of its kind in the history of National Agents Alliance,” Albright said. “A lot of this coincides with the ownership shift we just experienced and the changes we’ve made within our company. The purpose of the meeting was to reinforce the direction of the company and that starts with your top people, so we thought it was very important to include them on our board.”

National Agents Alliance also introduced some new incentive programs and discussed the short-term and long-term focus of the company and industry.

“We rolled out a new bonus program called our Ultimate MVP Index and we also introduced our Key Leader Program, which involves a certain structure and a certain production level. We brainstormed with all the top 19 agencies in our national organization as to what a top person in our company should and would look like. We looked at the future and talked about where we wanted this company to be in the next 30 years, which is different than what most people do. Most people are worried about next week or next month and we are focusing on the next 30 years and how to shape the entire company. We had a lot of enthusiasm and we’ve never had better structure or a better team of advisers in Jim Henson, Tim Goad, Barry Clarkson, John Roberts and Derek Steed.”

Steed, an attorney and partner at Wishart, Norris, Henninger & Pittman, P.A., will serve on the board as outside general counsel to National Agents Alliance in the areas of business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, strategic planning, employment law compliance and best practices. Steed said National Agents Alliance with Albright’s guidance is poised to reach levels that none of its competition in the industry has been able to achieve.

“He’s already been able to accomplish that so far from what he and all the other within the organization throughout the country have been able to achieve, but to surround yourself with people who have succeeded in their endeavors, and who collectively can succeed to even greater heights is a method that will realize for NAA and Andy Albright a great future.”

“My role with this board is two-fold. One, is to continue to serve in that legal capacity with National Agents Alliance, but also to provide the insight that I have from the many businesses I represent to be able to assist NAA in finding opportunity and capitalize on those opportunities.”

Clarkson, who co-founded National Agents Alliance along with Phillip Hudgins and Albright in 2002, said he was honored to be a member of the board.

“For the first time since this company was founded, I don’t  know that I’ve ever sensed the same feeling of energy, commitment and an ‘I’ve got your back’ mentality in a room like I witnessed at the advisory meeting,” Clarkson said. “It was almost scary, but I believe if you want to build what you really want to build then you’ve got to create that with a solid group of people. It starts with one and that’s the key. You’ve got to have people that will run through a brick wall and always have your back.”
