Jan. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- A SURVEY by Australia's VeryCleverDietBook program has revealed the Top 10 reasons most people fail to achieve lasting weight loss.

The survey found most people failed because:

1.THEY had no real control over their lives, let alone what they were eating.

2.MOST fad diets were just scams that offered no hope of long-term weight loss.

3.MANY people had no support or back-up for what they were setting out to achieve.

4.THEY underestimated the power of being hard-wired to a primeaval brain with the basic instinct of storing fat to fight famines.

5.LIFE just gets in the way with parties and food everywhere.

6.NO long term plan to deal with changing needs and desires.

7.EMABARRESSMENT stopped them trying sensible eating plans.

8.MANY people were in denial -  hormones make me fat.

9.MANY people convinced themselves it was actually okay to be overweight because it didn't matter that much – despite medical evidence that they were cutting years off their lives.

10.TOO unmotivated to even try to change – change is hard and scary.

Australian founder of the VeryCleverDietBook, jouranlsit Richard Mitchell,  said the survey, conducted online in December, confirmed his approach to meaningful weight loss.
