Follow on Google News | Mid America Motorworks sponsors Chip Miller Corvette at Barrett-Jackson AuctionMid America Motorworks sponsors a 1973 Corvette Stingray being auctioned by the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation Corvette during Barrett-Jackson’s 40th Anniversary 2011 Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz.
In addition to the Stingray, the winning bidder will receive a goodie bag put together by the sponsors. Mid America Motorworks is contributing custom floor mats from PERFORMANCE CHOICE Manufacturing Division and an autographed copy of the recently released 2nd edition of Mike Yager’s Corvette Bible. With information on model years through 2011, the updated Corvette Bible provides readers with an in-depth look at the Corvette’s 58-year history, from the uncertainty of the early years to the distinction of today. This marks the second year for a Chip Miller Charitable Foundation Corvette to run through the Barrett-Jackson Auction. In 2010 a 1974 Corvette raised $47,000 for the Foundation. Those funds were used to help raise awareness for amyloidosis, a little-known disease that ended Chip Miller’s life. The Foundation will use the funds from the Stingray auction to research and education people about the disease. Mike Yager, Chief Cheerleader of Mid America Motorworks, will also be participating in the Corvette Market Insider’s Seminar during the Barrett-Jackson Auction. Yager, along with Michael Pierce, Roy Sinor, David Burroughs, Terry Michaelis, Kevin Mackay and Jim Jordan, will discuss their favorite buys for Corvettes in various price ranges.
