Barcoding Inc. and Sky-Trax to Deliver Talk on Transforming Internal Logistics with RTLS and RFID

Jan. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Barcoding Inc., a leader in enterprise-wide mobility solutions, today announced that Jay Steinmetz (president of Barcoding, Inc.) and Larry Mahan (president of Sky-Trax, Inc.) will deliver a talk on “Transforming Internal Logistics with RTLS and RFID”. The event, sponsored by The Association for Operations Management (APICS) Baltimore chapter and the Council of Supply Chain Management, will be held Wednesday, January 12th at Red Brick Station in White Marsh, Maryland from 6-8:30pm.

Steinmetz and Mahan will discuss how advances in RTLS (Real Time Location Systems) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology are providing the same kind of transformational power for material handling that GPS delivered outside the four walls.

During their hour talk over dinner, the two industry leaders will also discuss how RFID and RTLS use can substantially leverage and extend the value of legacy systems. They will cover the distinct but complimentary nature of RTLS and RFID, and in referencing customer case studies and successes, they will demonstrate how visibility drives productivity in the warehouse.
