Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- The Building Group (www.BuildingGroup.com), a Chicago-based firm engaged in the management of residential, office, retail, and industrial properties, announces the launch of its First Tuesdays series of free educational seminars aimed at educating condominium and cooperative Board Members and residents.

“Local condominium and cooperative owners and associations face serious and complex issues on a daily basis that impact the quality of life and financial futures of those who live within their communities,” said Jim Stoller, President of the Building Group. “We are offering this series of educational lectures in an effort to provide them with the tools and information they need in order to stay abreast of the latest developments on important community management issues as well as help them maintain their investment.”

Absolutely free of charge, First Tuesdays will feature guest experts on key aspects of community association governance and management. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions during the seminars.

Seminar Dates/Topics:
February 1, 2011, David Sugar, Attorney at Law, Arnstein & Lehr, presents “Protecting Yourself and Your Association.” Topics to include: Board disputes; homeowner disputes; protecting the board and association from litigation; how to respond when the board or association is sued; delinquency payment issues and foreclosures.

March 1, 2011, Alderman Brendan Reilly, 42nd Ward, presents: “How Local Government Affects Condo Ownership." Topics to include: Life safety programs; green initiatives in Chicago; vacation rental limitations; public safety; and changes affecting condominium ownership.

**Please Note** There will be NO workshop on April 5, 2011, in anticipation of a possible City of Chicago mayoral election run-off.

May 3, 2011, Panel Discussion: “How To Prepare For An Emergency.” Topics to include: Disaster procedures and protocols; water extraction and damage mitigation; fire damage restoration; 3rd party insurance consultation; restoration procedures; and disaster prevention.
