Litigation Support Industry Veteran John Schmidt Joins Document Technologies, Inc.

(DTI), the nation’s largest independent provider of legal support services and document outsourcing, announced today that John Schmidt has joined the company as Managing Partner of DTI’s Washington, D.C. Regional Technology Center. In this role, Mr. Schmidt is responsible for driving DTI’s vision and execution of service delivery for all litigation support services to the Greater Washington, D.C. market.  

Mr. Schmidt brings to DTI extensive experience serving the needs of the Washington, D.C. legal community as well as legal markets across the United States. Mr. Schmidt most recently served in executive business development roles at IAPI and GRM, prior to which he was the vice president and general manager for all outsourcing at IKON. John was with IKON for 17 years and transitioned the legal unit from a black and white copy business to a full-service imaging services provider.  

Mr. Schmidt will manage DTI’s local litigation support service delivery at the company’s Regional Technology Center located in the renowned Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue. Opened in 2007, the center features a state-of-the-art forensics lab and a full-scale processing center for both electronic and paper discovery projects. The facility includes an 80-plus-seat discovery review center including appropriate amenities to ensure the comfort of legal teams required to work extensive hours; it also offers Lit Works™ certified training and staffing solutions.

In addition to traditional document services such as copying, scanning and coding, DTI delivers a full range of electronic data discovery solutions, including data collection, processing, web hosting and review at its Washington, D.C. facility, along with a strong facilities management division.
