By: Eve Gelman Miles comes to Peddler's Village with over 38 years of hospitality experience in resort management and development. Most recently, Miles served for 13 years as Vice President of Hershey Resorts at Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company in Hershey, PA where he was responsible for the Hotel Hershey, a 278 room Four Star/Four Diamond resort; the 650-room Hershey Lodge; 10 restaurants, 125,000 square feet of conference space; the 314-site Hershey Highmeadow Campground; and the Hershey Golf Collection. Prior to that, Miles held a variety of leadership roles at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for 23 years including eight years as Executive Vice President during which he managed a 1,700 employee resort complex with four hotels, thirteen restaurants, three golf courses and numerous recreational facilities. Miles also has had extensive experience in the planning and construction of successful resort development projects throughout his career. At Hershey, he planned and led numerous projects including the expansion of the Hershey Lodge, complete redo of the Hotel Hershey, construction of the “Chocolate Spa” and development of “The Grand Expansion,” a $67 million addition to the Hotel Hershey which marked the 75th anniversary of the historic hotel. Currently the chairman of the Pennsylvania Hospitality Foundation and a director of the Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association, Miles has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the hospitality and tourism industry through his many years of professional affiliations serving on boards and committees. In 2010, the American Hotel & Lodging Association recognized Miles for his contributions with the prestigious 2010 Pennsylvania State Leadership Award, a national award program created to honor standout members in each partner state association who help implement and strengthen industry programs.
