Jan. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- (Massillon, OH)—“Our application process is unorthodox but exciting because it results in actual training,” says Jeff ‘SKI’ Kinsey, Main Street Stark founder and Entrepreneur in Residence, “so this is a win-win situation for everyone.”

Main Street Stark, a new private business incubator, strives to cultivate vibrant small businesses that will renew America and create jobs as they grow. A paid three-month Social Media gig for an independent contractor was designated by Main Street Stark as first to be offered because of the increasing importance of the “SocMedia” communication channel. According to Kinsey, “There is a growing need for able new entrepreneurs to help businesses and corporations harness Social Media in order to bring products to market more quickly and maintain good will.”

From a field of those who complete the required submission forms, eight finalists will be selected for a seven-week challenge (training process) that will result in one person from that group being awarded the independent contractor gig. The gig will consist of a 13-week contract worth $3,250 USD. The finalists who participate in the challenge but are not selected for the gig will walk away with valuable hands-on training they can use to help them scale the hurdles of entrepreneurship. “Our best measure of success,” says Kinsey, “would be if the candidate we select for our gig turns us down because he/she sees all the tremendous possibilities for success, has confidence because of the training we’ve provided, and is anxious to get started in a business of his/her own.”
In order to participate in the challenge, each finalist must be able to meet at the Main Street Stark offices once a week for seven consecutive weeks, have an eagerness to learn, have a computer or access to one and above average computer skills. A nominal fee of $100 will be charged by Main Street Stark to cover materials. Applicants will be trained and graded by a panel of Main Street Stark mentors from Stark County and around the USA.

Preference will be given to those who are unemployed Stark County, Ohio residents. There are only two steps to apply for this challenge.

Applications must be received by Thursday, January 27th at 12noon.
