Stonehurst Place Owner Wins Industry Award

Jan. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Stonehurst Place announced owner Barb Shadomy received the 2011 Champion Award given yesterday at the Annual Innkeeping Show held in Charleston, South Carolina by the Professional Association of Innkeepers International.  This award is bestowed upon individuals who have succeeded on behalf of the bed and breakfast industry – local, regionally, nationally, or internationally – by garnering a significant victory for innkeepers.
 
Stonehurst Place is Atlanta’s first EarthCraft certified inn where owner and interior designer Barb Shadomy’s environmentally friendly work restored and renovated Stonehurst beyond it’s original grandeur, incorporating solar panels and other green features into this eco-friendly Atlanta bed & breakfast inn.   Guests are treated to the unique combination of restored features of the home and modern luxuries such as heated Carrara marble floors, deluxe two-person spa tubs, and Corian®-clad walk in showers.  

“Receiving this PAII Champion award provides the boost of energy I need to tackle my next project,” said interior designer and owner Barb Shadomy. “We are working with the City of Atlanta and its sustainability experts to allow purified rainwater used as potable water supply to individual Atlanta bed and breakfast inns.  Atlanta is continually short on water, and we want to contribute to the wise use of this valuable resource by the hospitality industry.”
