By: battery As expected, CES 2011 was very tablet heavy. It appeared as if almost every company wanted to get in the tablet game. The Atrix 4G allows you to carry one device and dock it into either a laptop shell or connect to desktop peripherals. The phone itself is your main machine, but its functions are expanded greatly by the shells. Motorola's customized app brings a desktop experience with you wherever you go. 3DTVs got another push, but the attention this year was on 3D without the glasses. Toshiba showed off 3D large screen televisions and a laptop capable of displaying 3D video—neither of which require special glasses. Razer showed off a prototype ultraportable gaming laptop, with a multi-touch screen. No one predicted this baby, and it sure got a lot of buzz. Microsoft also had some big news, announcing that Windows 8 would be able to run on ARM-based processors. No release date was mentioned (big surprise!). With these big names and hot products hogging the spotlight, a lot of interesting gadgets and technologies may have gone unnoticed.
