La Ley Sports and Jeff Gibson’s Elite Promotions

Jan. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- A press conference was held today at the La Ley Law building in Miami and it didn’t take long for the hundred and fifty in attendance to realize that Jeff Gibson’s ELITE PROMOTIONS was bringing something extra ordinary to fight fans and fitness enthusiast alike with the 2011 SOUTH FLORIDA FIGHT EXPO * HEALTH & FITNESS EXTRAVAGANZA.
Jeff Gibson is a longtime promoter of fights within Florida with over fifty events within the last ten years and known as one of the pioneers of bringing mixed martial arts (MMA) to Florida.  When asked about the expo he replied “this has taken a life of its own; as the city, sponsors, vendors, fight fans, and media have all come on board in a way I have never witnessed in over ten years of promoting”.  On February 24th thru the 27th Midtown Miami will be taken over by thousands of fight and fitness fans with vendors, restaurant row, bands, and events as boxing, mma, muay thai, grappling, figure contest, both amateur as well as professional take place at the Wynwood Convention Center.
Jen Borronico a well known commentator of mixed martial arts events in Florida was on hand to praise the man who gave her the start in the business, “This expo is going to set a new standard for MMA and Boxing pro fights.  And it could only come from a promoter like Jeff Gibson”.
With champion fighters in attendance like; Joel Casemayor, Yuri Gamboa, Jessica Aguilar, and the list goes on and on.  As did the very interesting information.  La Ley CEO John Ruiz had a few words to say about a newly formed partnership where his own La Ley Sports and Jeff Gibson’s Elite Promotions will be offering monthly fights in Miami and that there is no other promoter he would rather be partnering up with.  “Miami Fight Nights” will offer live events as well as televised, and live streaming on the web.  Mr. Ruiz went on to say they will have something no one else has; the capability to watch the fights live on your cell phone.  Pretty amazing stuff.  
As the fighters were introduced and celebrities in attendance mentioned, television cameras filming, cameras flashing, and people cheering, the electricity within the room was clear as was the message.  This Expo is something very unique and has all the markings of a success.  Not to leave out the clear message sent from Elite Promotions and La Ley Sports that 2011 is their year!
