Danville Teen with Cancer has his Only Wish Granted to Enjoy Family Time in Gatlinburg

Jan. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- DANVILLE, Ky. - In March of 2010, it was discovered that Levi had cancer. After two attempts to remove it, the cancer spread to his lungs later in the year. Levi then had to endure more surgeries to remove a portion of his left lung. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy before having two stem cell transplants, followed by more chemotherapy and then radiation treatments.

A friend of the family who donated to national children’s charity Kids Wish Network mentioned Levi to a professional fundraiser and soon Levi was on his way to having a wish granted.

It was to Wish Coordinator Jill that Levi entrusted his wish to visit Gatlinburg with his family and, with the help of some outstanding sponsors in Tennessee, Jill set to work planning an itinerary complete with some fun activities for Levi and his whole family to enjoy together. In addition to the cabin stay and dinners during the evenings, Jill also arranged for Levi and his family to enjoy a trip to the Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, a day at The Gatlinburg Sportsman’s Club and a special day at the Bass Pro Shop!

“It was great and wonderful,” said Levi’s mother Pamela of her son’s wish trip. “Everything was great. At the Bass Pro Shop, they let Levi be manager for a day and we weren’t expecting that. He loved the aquarium and the dinners were wonderful…it was all more than we ever expected.”
